i finally told another jw about how i am feeling.

she is the only jw i know that wont rat me out and she isnt active herself.
Well congrats on this first step! It is difficult no doubt about it. But, you just proved to yourself how strong you really are, and how you can do it.
This journey will no doubt be difficult along the way at times. But you will absolutely and totally be okay. I know at times you will wonder if it will all be okay but when you are on the other side - knowing you did the right thing, it will all be worth it!!
You have all of our support here. And, you will be just fine. It is soo worth it!

hi everyone, this is only my second post under this name but i'm not actually new, just couldnt remember my password under my other name as havnt been on the board for a very long time, hey i've even had a bible study in the time i've been away.. anyway, my question is, do you think their is a pecking order within the congregation,not so much overseer, elder, common publisher etc, more as in, one particular family being popular, everyone sucking up to them, them looking down their noses at the meer mortals who perhaps cant afford to pioneer or live in a palace, etc etc..

I absolutely do think there is a pecking order just as you have described! I have been out a long time but I can still remember the families names who were the high and mighty ones, and it was no coincidense that the people that were tight with them all happened to be working their way up rapidly, or were already high ups. Their kids were all little pukes, engaging in very improper behavior for Christians, but if you didn't hang out with them, you were nobody and not considered "good association".

i share a little tid bit.
my cong was always trying to tell men how to run their wives.
i get a little money from my dad for medical prob, here comes elders telling my hubby to 'make me' donate it to buy new chairs for hall.
I am glad you have the husband that you do, sounds like a great guy! I think this is completely disgusting behavior!! I cannot believe someone would want an interest free loan in order to buy themselves a new car - while your car was probably in worse shape than his current vehicle.
One question though - how did the elders find out you were getting money from your Dad twice and then your Mother? I think I would have probably kept this information under wraps in order to avoid the very thing you are talking about. No one needs to know your personal finances!!

personally, i stayed at home (my wife went), made steaks, drank beer, and watched several vulgar/demonic movies in the world of the jw's (halloween, the eye, hitman, no country for old men, saw iv).
i later went over to my mother in laws house to meet up with some other in laws - who i saved from the jw's - and talked about how the memorial was a waste of f@cking time... then drank more beer waiting for my wife to come back...
Dinner with my husband and some of our friends. Had a great time and also consumed some beverages (isn't that a no-no on Memorial night?). In short, I had a great night and didn't feel guilty for even one minute!

just a heads up to anyone who might still attend the occasional meeting, there's gonna be a major guilt talk on the service meeting during the week starting april 7, 2008. it's entitled "why put off baptism?
" (kinda weirdly worded title if you ask me.
sounds like it would be a list of good reasons to put it off.
Hmm, maybe I will go to the meeting that week and give my experience. As much as I would love to do that, I guarantee - no one else there would like to hear what I have to say.

i have just been told my so called sisters husband committed incest, i have asked her if this is true, but she won't answer properly.
she has never treated me as family because i am worldly, this man is an elder and has preached to me about being imoral, has never had much contact with my family, infact twice over the last 14 years we've seen him.
she has told me i love lies and sordid secrets.
